Elder Gust and Elder Harmon in Veracruz

Here is a closeup of Elder Gust -- He is in the upper right
(second row from top and approx 6 in from the right)

 Looks like Elder Gust made the Lehi Roller Mills Chocolate Cookie mix! :)
YEAH for ovens!!
 ...This picture and these words were Elder Gust's response when I asked him about how he was eating/if he was having any problems with food; and if he wanted any special treats with his Valentine Package...

"The food here in Mexico is amazing.  I will definately need to bring some home with my so that I don't miss it too much.  I haven't had any problem with the food, we eat lots of tortillas, rice, chicken, beans, mexican styled stake (it's just a little thinner), and the ward here cooks really well. "

.. Elder Gust wrote about the baptism if Juan Carlso in his email -- we are guessing that this is him..
 Elder Harmon and Elder Gust were able to serve together for a transfer! :)
(In the MTC they were in the same district and always felt like they would serve together s
This is Elder Gust's VERY 1st 'non-native' companion - so the first chance he has had to speak English to a companion!  Jan. 2, 1012 Elder Gust writes:

Dear Family,

...I am officially here with Elder Harmon.  Elder Harmon says, "Thanks for package, especially the christmas tree Resees because I practically ate everyone, including those to Elder Livas."  (Those were his words)  My companion is great.  He is such a hard worker and has such a strong testimony in the gospel.  He comes from a family of 11, 8 brothers and sisters. (26 nieces and nephews)
...We are excited to be together; we always decided that we were going to be companions since the MTC.  We have had two special experience where we have been teaching people and have felt some déjà vu (day she voo) where we felt like we have taught the people beforehand.  We were meant to be companions and we are going to have a lot of fun together.

Thank you for the Package, I really enjoyed all the treats.

~ Part of what Elder Gust writes this week;

 "...this week went by well, except we found out the Elder Harmon will be leaving tomorrow.  We were sad and very shocked that he was leaving only having one change together.  He does not want to leave, he has a lot of converts, good friends, and a lot of great work we can do. He is sad, but on the bright side he will be going to Poza Rica, Totolapa! where I started the mission.  He is going with Elder Ioane, another elder from our generation.  They will be the tallest missionaries together in the mission, Elder Harmon is 6´4 and Elder Ioane is 6´6, Im going to tell to him to visit some of my converts up there, including a family to see how they are doing with their goal of getting sealed in the temple.  Elder Harmons birthday is this week and will be sealing a family that he baptized from his first area. So although he is sad to leave they're a lot of great things that are happening."

 Elder Gust's Advice on "faith and happiness"
"Faith is believing, ...a lot of times we choose to not to believe, but once we let ourselves believe just a little bit, as much as a mustard seed, is when it starts to grow.  Faith is the first part of the gospel, when we begin to believe, our faith begins to grow."

We're not too sure who this 'wax museum/movie star' is... but we love looking at ELDER GUST!!
