I asked Elder Gust how his shoes were holding up -- Veracruz is a 'walking mission' only -- no cars or bikes so I assumed he would be wearing out some soles---sure enough, he has some pretty big holes - looks like he has been working hard!! (This are his favorite shoes--and they have THICK soles -- I can only imagine how the others look by now! It's a very good thing he has several pairs of shoes!)

I asked him to take a picture of them before he got them re-soled!! 

Multiple Baptism's  there were 4 this week!

Here is a little explanation from Elder Gust's email...

"I sent my baptismal pictures from this week.  We baptized Victor Meso Lopes the big guy, Luis Jesus Fiscal Texna who looks like a little gangster, Jose Louis Temish Librado, and Adriana Temish Librado.  They are all so awesome and come from nice families, almost all of them, I haven't known Luises family yet.  It was a special day  for Elder Mielnikowics and I to be able to see so many people get baptized.  As well in the Zone there were 15 baptisms.  We were very happy, I love being here and I love all the Elders who are here, we are working hard and seeing a lot of miracles."

"To answer a few of your questions, I received 3 birthday cakes for my birthday! The people here are very nice and loving and willing to give what they have to others.  We are teaching about 4 families right now. I found an oven so we are going to try and bake the cakes [you sent] but I will definitely appreciate a 22 layer cake for my 22 birthday"

"Los Tuxtlas is amazing.  Im sending pictures of the hike we just got back from today at the Hill Comorah.

 I think I told you last week that I was getting a new companion, his name is Elder Mielnikowics and he is from Argentina! He is a great companion, works hard and has a lot of Ideas.  He has a year and three months in the mision but only three months in Mexico.  Long story short he had to wait a whole year for his visa in Argentina! I thought 5 months was long!  

I'm not sure if you remember my first companions Elder Cuello and Elder Dunnington in ABQ New Mexico, but Elder Cuello is my new companions cousin, small world, we have talked a lot about him."
